[R] Is there an alternative to subplot() of splus

Dear R-gurus,

Is there any function in R does the same thing as function subplot()in
Splus?

I am trying to post a pie chart onto the top right hand corner of
existing bar chart.

Also, Does anyone know if I can use paste() to paste the graph to
another graph?
