[R] Arrow movements in R

Hello:

I apologize for asking this question again.

I recently upgraded to R-1.9.1 but now the arrow keys do not scroll up 
and down the command lines in R. Instead I get  ^[[A

My SuSe 9 platform is missing some program. What is it?
