[R] plotting in the same figure

Look at the argument "new" under ?par.
Probably better way is to use the following sequence:
plot(...) # whatever your first plot is.
lines(...) # add line to the existing plot.
points(...) # add points to the existing plot.
There are many other functions that add to the existing plot.
