Try

qqmath(~ extra | group,  data = sleep, aspect = 1,
             distribution = qnorm, prepanel = prepanel.qqmathline,
             panel = function(x, y, ...)  {
               panel.qqmathline(y, distribution = qnorm, ...)
               panel.qqmath(x, y, ...)
             })
