[R] Irregular Time series

Could you please give me some help on R?

I have got an irregular time series: 28.8 1962, 27.6.1977, 19.7.1989, 
26.6.1995, 26.7.1999.
For these days, I know the surface of different vegetal formations.

How may I use these data?

Is the pastecs library appropritate?
