[R] modifying GUI settings

Dear all,

I am using R under Windows 2000 and I would like to modify GUI settings
(the colours of the background and text) permanently. I know how to modify
them using the toolbar at the top of the R window, but at the moment I have
to reset them every time I start using R. 

My thanks and congratulations to the developers team for for producing such
and excellent software.
