[R] Calling R functions from C++ code

Hi
Just wanted to know if it is possible to call R
functions through a C++ application. Like a C++
program which takes data input from the user and the
choice of operation that has to be performed on that
data then passes this data to the particular R
function .
If yes where could I get some examples of such
programs.
