[R] Q. regarding shadowed 3D plots

Is the code for creating the screenshot plots found at:
1. http://www.r-project.org/screenshots/persp-surface.jpg
2. http://www.r-project.org/screenshots/volcano-persp.jpg
available?

How is the shadow added to the 3D surfaces?
