[R] breaks in axis

  There's a little bit of stuff in my "bbmisc" package
(http://www.zoo.ufl.edu/bolker/R/windows or
http://www.zoo.ufl.edu/bolker/R/linux) for drawing the axis break itself
(it draws a couple of lines and then draws over the axis in the background
color, "erasing" it); you'll still have to manipulate the scaling etc.
yourself.
  I considered trying to make it more automatic, but decided that there
are too many special cases.
