The original poster had mentioned being a Stata user I believe. Stata
is a package that I had reviewed at one time based upon some prior
recommendations.
I just recalled that Stata has both product related and general
statistics books available on their web site.

has links for several texts on survey and panel data and may be of help
to you.
You may wish to see if your main or departmental library has copies to
facilitate a review of the content.
