[R] Symmetric persp()-plot

Hi,
I uses R mainly for the visualisation of data (persp,contour, ...) and
have the following problem:
I have a spherical symmetric object (values only depend on the radius)
where the funcion f(radius) is
not known exactly. My table looks like this:
radius value
0 5
0.5 4
1 3.5
... ...
How can I plot these table with persp()? Is there a function which
generates me an array (in the
x-y-plane) for an 3d-Plot?
Thanks in advance
Thomas
