Take a look at CRAN, under
http://cran.r-project.org/src/contrib/PACKAGES.html#VR

Basically it's a bundle of MASS, class, nnet, and spatial packages, which
are all described in the "Modern Applied Statistics with S" by Venables &
Ripley (hence the name VR).
