[R] R hangs up unexpectedly

Hello,

I had the following problem occurring too often lately: R hangs up 
unexpectedly.

It usually happens when I am switching windows within R or when I am going 
back to the R window from another program.
At first I thought that the more windows I had open in R (i.e. the number 
of graphs) the more likely that R hanged up, but then even with only two 
graphs open, R still hangs up.

Any suggestions on how to solve this problem?

I am running Windows Millenium.
