[R] Information Gain / Gain Ratio

I've hand spun my own code for computing these measures; however, it
strikes me that they might be specific forms of more general statistical
measures.  So, is there any way to compute these built into R?  Also,
being able to use Mantaras's modified version (Machine Learning,
1991) would be nice.
