[R] R and Solaris

It works for me.  I think we need to know more about the errors.

The pre-release tests include using

gmake/gcc/g77
gmake/gcc/f77
make/cc/f95
make/cc/f95 in 64-bit mode

on Solaris 2.7 aka 7.
