[R] Newsgroup - another try?

I must say, I find it completely unthinkable that you do not have access
to USENET... I know that around 1994 had many nice conversations with
people from Mexico on USENET, and I thought I met people from Colombia
too. Of course, since then, the signal to noise ratio on USENET has
dropped significantly, so I guess spammers may effectively have shut down
USENET servers in Latin America.

However, if all else fails, you can connect to http://groups.google.com/
...? I would find it incredible if you couldn't connect to USENET there...

You see, when I get my own system running, I'll drop the newsfeed myself,
and use Google groups.

I don't think that was actually the proposal. Both would exist, it is just
that those who find a newsgroup more convenient can use a newsgroup, and
those who like e-mail can use e-mail. However, with the number of votes
needed for the creation of a newsgroup, quite a number of people would
have to support the idea.
