[R] Newsgroup - another try?

I think the real problem is the exponentially growing success of R and thus,
of R-help mailing list. A mailing list with less than 5 messages per days is
OK. But with 20 or more, it becomes a problem... People with slow internet
access that connect every week or so could have thousands of mails waiting
on the server when they subscribe to huge mailing lists.

I am happy with this mailing list, because I am connected all day long...
But as always, if someone complains and prefer a newsgroup, then he could do
the job himself and propose one... This is how GPL works for code, and it's
the same for "technical support": for users, by users. Isn't it?

All the best,

Philippe Grosjean
