(and others have responded similarly).
I think it depends on what you need. It was fine for me, using MS
Word and MS Powerpoint, as well as for running (not developing) Java
GUI-based applications (which have not tended to be that fast on
Unix, unlike say non-GUI apps).
Of course, now that I've got someone else to support Windows Terminal
Server at both my places of work, it's a non-issue (using rdesktop to
point to whichever Terminal Server contains the files that I need to
work on...).
In addition, I do admit to being semi-incompetent at both MS
packages, mostly due to a severe case of Emacs finger bindings as well
as personal bias...
