[R] Re: Mapping in R - in the common sense

Thank you for the help. I have installed the functions and the Intel 
version maps. I have tried the world map and those of the USA -- they 
look nice and useful.
I am offered actually offered MapInfo maps, but have no idea how to 
convert them to use in this framework. Moreover, I do not have MapInfo 
itself, so I can not check wherther it is willing to output its knowledge 
in any useful form. Is there any experience with this?
