Well it's possible my RAM or CPU may be out of order .. how would I check
that ?
Everything else on my system seems to work ok and R-base 1.3.1 compiled
perfectly with Mandrake 8.0 on the same system. If someone else has
managed that would prove my PC to be flakey of course.
By the way, gcc-2.96 on mandrake 8.1 is different from red hat ...
gcc-2.96-0.62mdk at the moment.
