If you have upgraded to OS X 10.1 you should see
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 60468 Sep 2 18:27 libz.1.1.3.dylib
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 16 Oct 29 14:28 libz.1.dylib ->
libz.1.1.3.dylib
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 16 Oct 29 14:28 libz.dylib ->
libz.1.1.3.dylib
in /usr/lib. Did you ? Do you ?
