Hi,
I am plotting smoothed curves from a large data set (over 1000 points) and
I am finding that loess supsmu, etc. produce incredibly large postscript
files, the reason of course is that most of the smoothers seem to be
quadratic in the number of points returned. Hence when the plot with 1000
over points and 5000 ove rsegments from the smoohter is written to a
postscrpit file it is humongous. Is there a way to thin the number of
segements so that the postscript file is of reasonable size but the
features of the curve are still apparent?
