[R] RODBC

Hi,

I have tried to install.packages("RODBC"), but it balks:

Installing source package `RODBC' ...
creating cache ./config.cache
checking for library containing SQLTables... no
configure: error: no ODBC driver manager found
ERROR: Configuration failed for package `RODBC'


What am I missing?  
What and where should "SQLTables" be? In another package? 
What should I tell my administrators to make an ODBC driver manager
available to me?
