[R] R in alfa: cannot start

Hi!

I've installed the R version of Digital Unix 
from the tar file (/R-CRAN/bin/osf/osf4.0/tar/R-base-1.2.3.tar.gz)
as I do not have root permissions.

I've changed (in the file ..usr/local/bin/R) 
the variable R_HOME_DIR to
/usr/rn/alobo/R/usr/local/lib/R
as I have untared in /usr/rn/alobo/R

When I type R, I get:
Fatal error: The X11 shared library could not be loaded.
  The error was dlopen: cannot load
/usr/rn/alobo/R/usr/local/lib/R/bin/R_X11.so

The machine is running Digital UNIX V4.0F  (Rev. 1229)

What can I do?
