[R] Subject: R and gui=X11

Hi,
I just subscribed the list and I am very new to R. I was in desperate
need of a statistical package like R for Linux and finaly found it.
The first question I have is about ussing R in a graphic environment.
The manual says almost nothing on that. I tryed to use R --gui=X11 (I
use KDE 2.01, so, have not gnome, the other option, in my Linux box),
but nothing happed (or I think that). No desktop interfase. What I am
doing wrong?
This was probably this was asked before, but I did not found it in the
archives.
