I hope I qualify as an interested ecologist. Perhaps the interested parties
should form a working group to produce an ecology package (although
competition and parallel packages are welcome as well)? I have had plans, but
not too much time, to write some community ecology pieces as well. The R
package standards aren't too difficult either: I have written one standard
complying package for the ESA archives, and it is quite easy: the R
documentation is good and there are some nice tools in R as well.
