[R] spatial functions

In particular, VR's "spatial" package does have correlogram, variogram,
and Kfn (which is the equivalent of Khat), and the sgeostat package
appears to have a variety of variogram estimators. I think it depends on
your degree of expertise, how much of a cheapskate you are, and how much
you're willing to fuss to make things work. I suspect that S+SpatialStats
was originally built on top of the VR functions, but it has been extended
and polished since; the documentation is certainly more polished (I've
bought S-PLUS and S+SpatialStats, but haven't got around to using them yet
-- not because I've been using R to do the same things, but just because I
haven't done any of that kind of spatial work recently).
If you have any particular analyses in mind I can look in the
S+SpatialStats manual and see if they're covered.
