Hm. This is actually a bit odd. It works OK for me with RH 6.2 (i.e.
emacs 20.5.1) and ESS 5.1.9. The error you're getting indicates that R
thinks it is running in non-interactive mode, which is not what is
supposed to happen in an emacs buffer, at least not on Linuxen. Do you
have anything (e.g. in your .emacs) that could cause that?
