On the GUI issue, and issues on making R easier to use, let's not forget
about an all too increasing problem of the plug'n chug statistics users out there.
Lately in the archaeological science journals there is a bad habit of people doing
statistical analyses on data sets that have too few cases for the number of
variables.  Personally, I think this is promoted by the fact that there are pull-down
menus and one can do the statistics without really thinking about them.

At least in its given configuration (i.e. having to at least type a few commands
to get your output), R makes you think about what you are doing....

Sorry, I will now get down off my soapbox.
