But there are png() and jpeg() (and bitmap()) devices now on UNIX.
The reason there is not a bmp() device on UNIX is that we did not
anticipate any demand for a Windows format there.
There are lots of tools on Unix to convert these bitmap formats from one to
another, so we have no intention of providing a comprehensive set.
There are fewer such tools on Windows, and they have more restrictions,
so we tried a little harder there.
