[R] Garbage Collecting (Never mind the previous message...)

Dear all,

I'm sorry to have bothered you with this. Of course, it wasn't
anything wrong with the garbage collector, it had nothing to do with
the garbage collector. Once again, it was my understanding that was
flawed... I discovered it while re-RTFM, that is, the help page for
attach(). 

In the function I called oh-so-many times, I did a call to attach(),
believing that the variables would be local to this function and discarded
afterwards. I _had_ read the help-page before, but a year ago, and had
forgotten how it works. How stupid. :-)

Again, sorry to have bothered you with this. It's dangerous to try to
program beyond ones ability.... :-)
