I just found R this week.  I have read "An
Introduction to R" and ordered "Programming with Data:
A Guide to the S Language" which should show up next
week.

Are there any documents on the web or other books I
should consider?

There is a manual entitled "Data Analysis and Graphics Using R -- An
Introduction" written by John Maindonald available on the web which contains
a lot of information about plotting and R's graphics capabilities.  I also
find the "S-Plus User's Manual" and the "S-Plus Guide to Statistical &
Mathematical Analysis" good references.
