Thanks for the information. I have informed our people to be brief and to
indicate that we are looking for someone with R or Splus as well as SAS
experience.

There are restrictions on the S-news list. Job announcements are supposed
to be brief pointers to further information, and relevant (that is S-PLUS
skills are required), from memory (as the information page is unresponsive
right now).
I think something similar would be appropriate here.
