[R] Unix installation

None, as far as I know.

It would probably be, yes, but I'm afraid you will have to do it, unless
somebody comes up with something for you. Now, I took the fast solution
and pushed it over on the sysadmins to do a sitewide installation of R. If
that is not a solution for you, I think the folks here would need more
details to help you.
