On my "privat-wish list" stands functions like "nlme", "polr" at the top...

But: Last week I copied a psychology-student the Windows Port of R: Without any
programming experience he stopped after the demo() experience and returned to
SPSS...

When I remember my first statistical package "SPSS" and the way I learned the
syntax, I would suggest a primitve editor for a R-GUI (R-Gnome, Rgui). In SPSS you
can do much by the Gui: Clicking on "ok" the command is executed, clicking
"command" the command is written in the editor. This sekond possibility gave me a
easy starting point for the syntax (I think Splus hasn't got this opportunity) .
For a GUI - Interface for R I would recommend this as a primary goal---and for
educational purposes *not* the ability to directly execute R-Commands with the
GUI! Additionally this might be easier to realize in Software???

Just a suggestion...
Peter

ps.: Are there plans for functions like "add.menu.item" etc?
