[R] Graphics output device

But:  the y-axis labels were not iffy on the original display: See 
www.ndirect.co.uk/~mlapsley/NotTooBad.png which is a grab of what it looked
like on the display.  As I said in my original post, it may well be that this
is a gs bug but I wondered if R was provoking it in some specific way.  

I must admit that I am having some bother reproducing this bug myself, as my
home machine exibits the colour problem but my work one does not (both Redhat
5.2 with gs 5.5)

That notwithstanding the axis fonts are still wrong, apparently for you as well.

I am quite happy to use any utility to convert file.a to file.b if it can do so
reliably in batch, although I could do without becoming a ghostscript guru. 
Maybe I'm just a bit sensitised by this experience.  I said to my wife 'No
problem, I'll knock off your graphics for your presentation in 10 minutes'. 
Hubris, I suppose, and perhaps it served me right that it then seemed to occupy
a whole weekend.  The word 'only' is taboo in out IT dept: now I know why!
