The first five of those are S-PLUS functions not in R: the lme library
had the same problems, which I think is the price of a common code tree
for S-PLUS and R.
However, the real reason for my replying is to announce that a Windows
version is now on my site and will propagate to CRAN tonight. You do need
R-0.90.0 to use it, so unless you build that from source (I did) you will
need to await Guido's announcement of rw0900.
Also, there is a new release of the VR bundle including scripts that make
use of nls and nlme now on CRAN as source and as Windows zip, version
6.1-5. As update.packages does not, yet, cope with package bundles (it will
soon) you will need to install this manually. As that is a major hole in
the R functionality plugged, many thanks for Doug, Saikat and Jose'.
