[R] postgresql package for R

Neat. I assume you know that Michael Lapsey is preparing a general ODBC
interface?  Anyway, as I currently use a simple R function around a system
call to psql, combined with read.table, I thought I'd give a shot, but alas:

Error in dyn.load(x, as.logical(local), as.logical(now)) : unable to load shared library "/usr/lib/R/library/postgres/libs/postgres.so":
  /usr/lib/R/library/postgres/libs/postgres.so: undefined symbol: PQfsize

Platform is Debian GNU/Linux with R 0.65.1, and postgresql 6.5.2.
