[R] insufficient memory

R statics allocates memory space at start time, it defaults to 8 Megs.
So in unix try:
$ R --vsize 16M
(or more)
in Windows:
Create a shortcut to the Rgui binary and add a similar command option to
the shortcut.
In Emacs ESS mode
C-u M-x R, and then add --vsize xxM in the first prompt
