[R] unable to load modreg in R-0.63

The main problem here is the "linuxppc 2.1.128" bit...not too many
people have similar setups.

The first thing to do is figure out whether the problem is that
modreg.so isn't there or just isn't loadable.

Then, assuming that it *is* there, you'll have to see whether R has
gotten the procedure for creating dyn.load'able object files right on
your system. Probably the most handy thing is to go to the
demos/dynload directory and try making the example there. If it
doesn't work, I'm afraid your in for a bit of studying of the ld(1)
man page. 

Oh, BTW, *before* that, check whether configure finds the dlxxx
libraries needed for dynamic linking at all! If they're not installed,
well, you know what to do.
