R-beta: multiv package from CRAN

Hallo Friedrich,

I have read your announcement, downloaded and installed it in R-0.61.3.
But now I have problems :)

> hc <- hierclust(dist(t(pollen)), method=3)
Error in pmatch(x, table) : argument is not of mode character
> hc <- hclust(dist(t(pollen)))
> members(hc)
Error in .Fortran("assgn", n = as.integer(n), nplus1 =
as.integer(nplus1),  : C/Fortran function not in load table

Since I have a snapshot from May 22 I put it there. But in these tree I
couldn't install it.

More questions:

Is it possible to get the mahalanobis distance as a distance matrix like
the dist function.

Gabriel's biplot functions are not working in the mass library. Around
the year 1983 I had a lot of Calcomp plot's according to the publication
in 1971. But now my programming skill's gets a little bit rusty. Are
there any efforts to get the mass library working or would someone else
enhance the multiv library with biplots.
