There is another advantage of the new x11 graphics: on some operating
systems the content of an R<=0.61.x graphics windows is lost when it is
hidden by another window for example by the R terminal window. On two of
our IBM workstations it used to be a pain to arrange all windows on the
desktop everytime when R was started. Working with R 0.62.x is much more
fun and the advantages of the new graphics are invaluable.
