R-beta: converting a Splus data directory to a package

In R 0.49 (yes, I've not been keeping up with updates) I converted an
Splus data directory with functions I wrote to use with R by dumping them
to a large ASCII file and then dumping this file in $RHOME/library
What should I do with them for 0.62 (or is there an easier way of doing
this?)
