Yes, without much of the trouble. I've compiled it on AIX 4.2.1 IBM RISC/6000,
and under AIX 4.2.1 on IBM PowerPC. The compiler I've used was the latest gcc. I
found some problems compiling with xlc. I've not resolved the problem of
dymanic loadig yet for some modules, even though it should be doable since
AIX 4.2.1 allows for the dynamic loading. The R itself runs OK.
