R-beta: question on dyn.loaded code

Using R0.61.1 Alpha on hpux10.20 with patches I get :
> dyn.load("fn1.sl")
> dyn.load("fn2.sl")
> .C("negtwice",as.integer(2))
[[1]]
[1] -4
> .C("twice",as.integer(2))
[[1]]
[1] 4
I had to type the functions as "int" rather than void.
I will try the same at home on my redhat 4.2 linux box.
