[R] image ()

The problem is that way that the numbers are aligned on the grid.  In
the R image plot, the cells on the boundary are half the width/height
of those in the middle of the plot.  This is a artifact which occurs
because I wanted to overlay contours over the image data, and have
those contours extend to the edge of the plot -- this was a cheap and
nasty way of obtaining filled contours.

We will soon have genuinely filled contours and the necessity for
doing this kind of cheap trick will go away.  I've put a review of
image on the TODO list.
