I tried to port parts of the Hmisc-package about 2 months ago and
informed Frank Harrell about my intentions, but he didn't allow the
port giving the following reason:

Andreas,

I realize that some of the functions will port correctly,
but I don't want to be in the position of answering questions
from R users when I don't use R myself.  That's why I'm
declining to allow any of the functions to be used in R.
