R-beta: library format for R-0.60

Currently I'm porting the spatial library from 

"Venables W.N., Ripley, B.D.  (1995): Modern applied statistics with S-PLUS,
Springer" 

to R. Now it seems to work with R-0.50-a4, but I guess it has to be adjusted
when R 0.60 comes out. 

So my questions are:

What changes will appear in library sources (directories, Makefile, help
page format)?

Can I get an unofficial pre-version of R 0.60 (where)? When will it
replace version 0.50?
