[Rd] Staged installation fail on some file systems

This happens to me, too, on an Ubuntu virtual machine (with a "vboxsf"
file system, over an underlying MacOS (HFS) file system), but only when
installing as part of R CMD check ... I did find the workaround, so I
don't think I reported it before.
