[Rd] loess() crashes R on my system

I just did

replicate(1000, with(ethanol, loess(NOx ~ C * E, span = 1/3, degree = 2,
           parametric = "C", drop.square = "C", family="s")))

under Windows XP SP3 with R-2.10.1 / lattice_0.17-26 and it worked fine: 
Sorry, I cannot reproduce it.
